Envelopes

A key piece of stationery for any home or office, "envelopes" are vital for securing and distributing invoices, bill payments, legal documents and so much more.

Envelopes are perfect to use for letterheads, wedding invitations, greeting cards, and other stationery.

 

  Envelopes are categorized into several groups. Baronials are envelopes used commonly for invitations, ranging from Gladstone {3 9/16 x 5 9/16} to Linwood #7 {5 1/2 X 7 1/2} with pointed flaps. Announcement envelopes range from A-2 {4 3/8 X 5 3/4} to A-10 {6 x 9 1/2}. Announcement style envelopes are also used for invitations and announcements and have a square flap.
  Commercial envelopes are the most commonly used for business and stationary. Regular Envelopes are the standard of business envelopes. This product range includes the popular #10 envelope which measures 4 1/8" by 9 1/2". All regular envelopes feature a solid front and a basic flap on the back. Some regular envelopes have special features, including security tint to conceal the contents and pre-moistened adhesive flaps for easy closure.Other types of commercial envelopes contain a window. Window envelopes feature at least one opening on the front of the envelope, that allows the address inside the envelope to show through. Single window envelopes have just one opening for the mailing address, whereas double window envelopes have an opening for the return address as well. Choose from a wide array of sizes and colors to coordinate with your mailing needs. Businesses use these envelopes to send invoices, checks, letters, and other types of mailings. Sizes ranging from #5 {3 1/8 x 5 1/2} to #6 3/4 {3 5/8 x 6 1/2}, #9 Return envelopes {3 7/8 x 8 7/8}, the standard #10 envelope {4 1/8 x 9 1/2}, commonly used for stationary or business envelopes. There is also the #11 envelope {4 1/2 x 10 3/8}, the #12 envelope {4 3/4 x 11} and the #14 envelope { 5 x 11 1/2}. Another major catagory are the Catalog/ Booklet/Coin envelopes, ranging from the small coin 1.687 x 2.75 envelope to the large 12 x 15.5 catalog envelope.

A booklet or an open side envelope has the flap opening on the long dimension of the envelope. An open end envelope has the flap opening on the short dimension side of the envelope.

Please keep in mind that 3 1/2 x 5 is the minimum height and length required for mail pieces to be acceptable for mailing. Regulations are subject to change. Check with your local post office.
